I’ve had a paintbrush or pencil in my hand for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I drew just about everything around me, learning anatomy from comic books while also painting landscapes whenever I had the chance. That early curiosity eventually led me into television graphic arts and the corporate world of art and design, but fine art has always been where I feel most at home.

Today I work from my studio in the Tampa Bay area, where I continue to create and exhibit my work throughout Florida and across the United States.

My work is rooted in the belief that people are far more complex than what we see on the surface. None of us can be defined by a single moment, emotion, or label. We are constantly evolving—made up of memories, experiences, personalities, and emotions that overlap and shift throughout our lives.

In this body of work, I use color as a way to explore those layers. I think of each person as a living palette, made up of visible and invisible colors that reflect who they are, where they’ve been, and who they’re becoming. Just like no single color can tell the whole story, no single expression or first impression can capture the depth of a person.

Through these paintings, I hope to encourage people to slow down and look a little deeper—not only at the artwork, but at each other. If viewers leave with a greater appreciation for the richness, complexity, and individuality that exists within every person, then the work has done exactly what I hoped it would.
